*** WHAT'S HAPPENING ***

OCTOBER 2026

Finis Origine Pendet

The end depends upon the beginning.

** THE SUN & EARTH & MORE **

Every project, business, romantic relationship, or partnership has its own birth chart, and the Sun and Earth are the most crucial factors in that chart.

Every day can vary in its propensity for a successful outcome. Some days are better for love, and some are better for money, but your own chart's transits are the most important. However, when you have great transits and also pick a great day to start something new, the magic happens!

The Sun or Earth is the most important body in any chart, so understanding their most significant alignments can help you make better choices about the best days to begin something new, if and only if, your chart agrees.

Red days are the most challenging. Green days are the most helpful. Yellow Days require extra caution.Set for Washington D.C. 6 am Eastern Time.

~~~***~~~
Oct 1- 3 Sun opposite Saturn The worst time this month to start something new, like a job or a key relationship.
Venus Rx October 3, 2026 at 8.5 Scorpio
Oct 4 Jupiter trine Earth is always helpful thanks to the protective nature of Jupiter.
Oct 6 Unfavorable midpoints, and an opposition to Pallas, but not as bad as some days this month
Oct 8- 12 Sun square Ceres plus unfavorable midpoints makes this an especially poor time to begin anything that involves finances or business.
÷ Oct 10 New Moon 11:50 am at 17.3 Libra
Pluto D October 16, 2026 at 3.0 Aquarius
Oct 17-18 Mildly helpful
Oct 19 - 22 Start something now and it may not live up to your dreams. Especially challenging for new relationships or crucial promises.
Oct 24 - 28 Sun square Pluto followed by Pluto square Earth offers negative timing, especially for financial endeavors and business starts. This can indicate power struggles in any new venture or blinders about what is important.
à October 26 Full Moon 12:11 am at 2.8 Taurus/Scorpio
Mercury Rx October 29, 2026 at 20.9 Scorpio
Oct 30 Several helpful patterns come to a peak in the declinations making this a helpful time for fresh starts, but the Sun is also aligned with Saturn so its not going to be a bed of roses.
* THOUGHTS & THINGS *
WHACK JOB: A recently released Netflix film (not particularly worth watching, by the way) based loosely on the Lizzie Borden scandal has stirred up the headline making story. It’s sensational horror story plot portrays Lizzie Borden as the murderer of a neighbor as well as her parents.
The truth is that ten months after Mr. and Mrs. Borden were axed to death in their Fall River, MA home, a neighbor named Bertha Manchester was murdered with an axe in her dairy farm home. This murder occurred just five days before Lizzie Borden’s trial began.
A Portuguese man confessed to the crime, although not linked to the Borden murders, but the ensuing gossip may have affected the decision of the jurors. After all, how common are axe murders? This might explain why Lizzie Borden was acquitted of the gruesome murders of her father and stepmother despite a barrage of lurid newspaper articles, an enthusiastic prosecutor and damaging public sentiment.
Lizzie Borden was born July 19, 1860, the Borden murders were committed August 4, 1892, while the famous trial began June 5, 1893. T. Saturn was forming a tumultuous pattern with Lizzie Borden’s natal Neptune, Sedna, Ixion, and Vesta when the murders occurred. Saturn transiting natal Vesta is often seen when someone is turned into a scapegoat. Additionally, t. Ceres formed a T square that triggered her natal Saturn opposition Chiron, which is a reputation damaging configuration.
U.S. Mid Term Elections
The question repeatedly asked recently, “is Trump going to retain power in Congress after the mid-terms?” is best answered by the U.S. chart’s transits on November 3.
Elections have become increasingly difficult to analyze since early voting became the norm, and elections across many states occur during mid-terms with varying voting dates, so just looking at the election day chart by itself won’t hold all the answers.
Additionally, the economic situation with inflation, gas prices, and drain on resources due to the Iranian conflict are putting a strain on the political playing field. When things are not going well people tend to vote for change, even if change might entail poor choices.
In the U.S. chart, the Sun and/or Earth would symbolize the President and executive branch of government. In geocentric, transiting Sun and Mercury are trine to the natal U.S. chart’s Sun, with a wide square from transiting Vesta, which are not signs of upheaval.
 In heliocentric, however, transiting Saturn is within one degree of a square to the U.S. chart’s Earth, while transiting Mars is opposing it, creating a frustrating and resentful T square. These transits are harbingers of election day conflicts and perhaps even deceptions (Saturn) that might easily undermine the power of the Oval Office.
Another way to ascertain the potential for upheaval in Congress due to mid-term elections is to compare the Inauguration date with November 3 transits. The Inauguration date for this term of office was January 20, 2025. Ruthless but powerful Sedna is trine to the Sun of that chart, which indicates maintaining power, while in heliocentric transiting Chiron is square the Earth and Mars, a signal of wavering popularity, vacillating support, and impulsive or upsetting changes.
Based on the difficult October ahead, early voters may be unhappy with the status quo, so things do not look favorable for maintaining congressional power. Based merely on the chart for November 3 when the Earth is square jolly Jupiter, and people are more generous, optimistic, and forgiving, there could be some victories as well as some upsets.
The system of checks and balances is in effect; the Republicans currently have a very narrow majority but the Democrats are splintered into factions. No matter what happens in the mid-terms, the U.S. chart is at the mercy of t. Neptune square n. Venus, (see September's Ephemera) and no congressional shift will improve the economy until that ends.
*** ECLIPSES 2026 ***
If you have a natal planet synchronized with one of these eclipse degrees your chart will be impacted by the eclipse's influence more than other people.
Feb 17 Solar Eclipse (Annular) 28.9 Aquarius
Mar 2–3 Lunar Eclipse (Total) 12.9 Virgo/Pisces
Aug 12 Solar Eclipse (Total) 20 Leo
Aug 27–28 Lunar Eclipse (Partial) 4.9 Pisces/Virgo
Looking ahead: According to NASA's solar eclipse calendar, the longest solar eclipse in 100 years will occur on August 2, 2027. Its total phase will last 6 minutes and 23 seconds.
Hindsight: On May 28, 585 BC a total solar eclipse plunged the sky into sudden darkness during a battle, causing two armies - the Medes and Lydians - to drop their weapons and negotiate a peace treaty because the eclipse was interpreted as an omen.
*** PLANETARY PIVOT POINTS ***
Let's look ahead at retrograde energy shifts for the next few months. If you have a natal planet synchronized with one of these station points your chart will be impacted by that planet's influence more than other people.
